The Valley of Flowers Trek is India’s most famous trek in the Himalayas. Those who have no idea what traveling is all about also heard about the valley of flowers. The unavailability of this spot didn’t allow people to have a lot of knowledge about its presence. In the year 1931 3 English mountain climbers S. Smythe, Eric Shipton, and R.L. Holdsworth found this place when they lost their path, getting back from Mt.Kamet. In the year 1980, it is declared the valley of flowers.

Best Time to go Valley of Flowers

The entry to Valley of flowers opens towards the start of June. But the best time to visit is between July and October. Indeed, even in July and September, the trip isn’t the same every month.

Location of Valley of Flowers

Valley of flowers is situated in the Chamoli region of Uttarakhand, roughly 300 km toward the north of Rishikesh. Valley of flowers is a World Heritage Site for its wild untamed blooms surrounded by white pinnacles.

Rishikesh/Haridwar to Govind Ghat 

You can take a bus from Haridwar, which starts its journey at 4.30/5 AM in the morning and reaches at 5/5.30 AM at Rishikesh. You can also take the shared taxis which are accessible at both the spots close to the bus stand and start early morning around 5-5.0 AM.

If you are going with your vehicle try to reach early in the morning attempt as you have to cover around 275 km in a day with time for jams and avalanches considered. You will also pass through Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag – Joshimath.

Govind Ghat to Govind Dham/Ghangaria (15 km of trip 4-6 hours)

You need to begin your trek early in the morning for this day as the journey is tiring and the difficulty level is moderate. You will pass through Pulia and Bhyundar town, and there are shops on the way, so you will have things to eat.

Ghangaria to Hemkunt sahib to Govind Ghat

You have to begin early and arrive at Hemkunt Sahib. The trek is tough and the hardest you will face on this path. But you will also encounter some amazing views of the Garhwal Himalayan range. Then you have to travel down to Govind Ghat which will be tiring and weighty for knees.

Rishikesh to Delhi (200 km, 4-5 hrs)

This will be the last day you start back to Rishikesh,  exit from Uttarakhand, and leave for your destinations.

Via Air:

Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the closest air terminal to Haridwar. Book your tickets and you can easily reach them.

Via Train:

Haridwar Railway Station is well connected with all major cities.

Haridwar is well connected with roads too with every major city like Chandigarh, Delhi, Dehradun, and Nainital. You can easily reach here without any problem.
