An emerald green lake that has fresh water and is in the Himalayan region natural, beautiful, and originating from natural springs are the things that define Dodital. Dodital Lake is situated at a height of 3310 meters above sea level. The lake is encircled by the Deodar forest on all sides making it one of the most gorgeous natural lakes at such heights.

Dodital trek is a natural located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 1350 meters to 4150 meters. Dodital is also perceived as Dhundi Raj which means the birthplace of Lord Ganesha. more than that it has amazing scenery as you enter Assi Ganga valley and it has a huge high altitude lake full of fish called Brown Trout brought in from Scotland in 1862 by Britishers.

Trekking to Darwa Pass can be done from Dodital Lake. The pass offers spectacular views of Bandarpunch mountain and the snowy ridges of Dhaula Dhar. A spectacular view of the woodland ridges and meadows leading to Hanuman Chatti, a well-known pilgrim settlement, is also visible. Lovely oak, pine, and rhododendron trees can be seen in the Dodital forest.

By Air:-

The closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, which is approximately 200 kilometers from the Uttarkashi headquarters. Taxis and buses are readily accessible from Dehradun airport to the Uttarkashi headquarters.

By Train:-

There are railway stations in Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun. Rishikesh and Dehradun are the closest train stations to Uttarkashi (200 km approx). To get to Uttarkashi, catch a bus or taxi from Rishikesh/Dehradun.

By Road:-

State buses run between Uttarkashi and Rishikesh/Dehradun regularly. Local Union Buses and State Transport buses run between Uttarkashi and Dehradun (200 km), as well as Haridwar (250 km). Gangotri is 100 kilometers from Uttarkashi’s administrative center. 


Itinerary for Dodital Trek

Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar – Uttarkashi (225 kms/6 hrs)

Leaving Delhi and, catch an AC train to Haridwar. The evenings are free for recreation. Staying in a hotel for the night

Day 02: Uttarkashi – Sangamchatti – Manjhi (16 km / 6-7 hours)

Drive to Sangamchatti then hike to Manjhi through Agoda Village and Bevra. Setup the camp for the night following your arrival in Manjhi. overnight stay in a tent.

Day 03: Manjhi – Dodital (3307 mts / 10847 ft) (6 Kms / 3–4 hrs)

Start your adventure to Dodital today by trekking through dense forests and climbing rocky rocks.  overnight stay in the tent 

Day 04: Dodital – Darwa Top (5 kms / 3 hrs)

Trek up to Darwa Top. The walk to the top of Darwa is 5 kilometers (2-3 hours). Darwa Top is located at an altitude of 4150 meters, and the whole walk is an upward ascent through dense birch forest that opens into high meadows. After climbing Darwa Top, take in the beautiful views before beginning the downhill trek to the campsite. Stay in tents for the night.

Day 05: Dodital – Agoda (2250 mts / 7380 ft) (17 kms / 4-5 hrs)

Trek down to Agoda, which is a 17 Kms Trek. Overnight stay in tents at Agoda.

Day 06: Agoda – Rishikesh (4 km trek + 200 km Drive)

Trek down 4kms to Sangamchatti from there drive down to Rishikesh. stay at a hotel.

Dhumdhar Kandi Trek

Day 07: Rishikesh – Haridwar – Delhi

Early in the morning, catch a train for Delhi from Haridwar Railway Station. You will arrive in Delhi by afternoon.
