Triveni Ghat holds a sacred place in Hindu Mythology. It is believed that Lord Krishna came to the Ghat when he was hit by an arrow shot by Jara, a hunter. The Ghat is also considered as the cremation place of Lord Krishna. The name Triveni means three and that comes from the fact that it is the confluence of three major rivers of India namely Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati.

1. Rishi Kund

Rishi Kund is easy to accessible from the Triveni Ghat. Kund means Pond. This Kund is closely associated with the Rishi named “Kubz”. It is believed that Goddess Yamuna blessed the Rishi by filling up the Pond with plenty of water. The Image of Ragunath Shrine, which is dedicated to Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, is wholly reflected in this pond.

Laxman Jhula is the hanging Bridge which is one of the main crowd attraction in Rishikesh. Jhula means Bridge in Hindi. This iron suspension bridge is built across river Ganga. As per Hindu Mythology, Lord Laxman crossed River Ganges using a rope bridge at this place. The bridge was built in 1939. You can see large number of stalls on both sides while passing through this Bridge.

This bridge is 450 ft. long and it is situated at the height of 70 feet from the river. Presently, the Lakshman Jhula acts as an adjoining bridge across the river.

Aadi Guru Shankaracharya founded this ancient temple in 12^th century. This place is really loved by the people who love ancient temples and pilgrimage sites. The shrine houses Lord Vishnu carved out of a single piece of Saligram. The inner canopy of the temple contains Shree Yanthra.

The architecture and interiors of the temple has been detailed in the ancient record of Kearkhand. The present structure was reconstructed on the ruins of the original temple which was destroyed by Tamur. Excavations have yeilded many old statues, ancient pots and coins from this site. 

Bharat Temple also finds its name in many Hindu scripts and epics like Mahabharat, Vishnu puran, Shrimadbhagwat, Vaman Puran and Narsingh Puran. Legends believed that if one takes 108 rounds of Lord Shri Hrishikesh on the day of Akshya Tritiya and seek the blessing at Lord’s uncovered feet, then all wishes will be fulfilled. 4. Tera Manzil Temple

Trimbakeshwar Temple or Tera Manzil Temple is the thirteen storey temple situated on the banks of river Ganges in Rishikesh. It is Located right opposite the Lakshman Jhula. The temple enshrine several deities under one roof. This temple is popular for its striking architecture, the temple also offers panoramic landscape view from the top of its 13^th floor.

1. The Beatles Ashram

The Beatles Ashram, also known as Chaurasi Kuti, is located on a cliff in the Swarashram area of Rishikesh. This is the ashram where The Beatles lived in 1968. They wrote dozens of songs and meditated there. The ashram complex houses a former temple, library, kitchen, home of Maharishi Yogi and meditation huts.
