Itinerary for Bara Bhangal Trek

Day 1: Manali to Lama Dugh

The climb of the trek is through dense forests. After a narrow climb of the trek, you can see amazing views of various faces of Indrasan, Deo Tibba, and peaks of Bara Shigri glacial. In the last leg, the way goes to one side and one strolls through the edge evenly and enters the camping area on an elevated level studded with a thick area of alpine flowers.

Day 2 : Lama Dugh to Riyali Dhammakaya

Today’s trek is through a steep edge underneath Thanpri Tibba (4000m). Starting here, one can have a sublime look at Manali, situated on the left bank of river Beas, and the entire upper Kullu valley, which seems wrapped in the various shades of the season.

Day 3 : Riyali Thach to Kalihani Pass Base

The path continues over open knolls first followed by a steep plunge to a river. Crossing it, the way goes on for a climb of around three hours till you reach the Basecamp of Kalihani Pass. Enjoy the beauty of the Deo Tibba and Indrasan tops from the camping area.

Day 4 : Kalihani Pass base to Kalihani Pass to Devi ki Marhi

Today will be a drawn-out day with a steep climb to the pass crossing a stretch of scree, a moraine, and the Kalihani glacier. Get some rest at the pass to get a marvelous 360-degree view of hanging glacial masses, the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges. A lofty plummet across another ice sheet and four delightful glacial lakes will carry you to the camp at the gaddi camping area of Devi ki Marhi.

Day 5 : Devi ki Marhi to Dal Marhi

The path first gets over the Kalihani Nullah and slides into the oak and birch forests. Most of the parts of the trekking level were full of ups and downs. There is a lofty trip, just before you reach the Dal Marhi camp.

Day 6 : Dal Marhi to Bara Bhangal

The path currently goes on down the Ravi river into the deodar forests, to the main huge town in the valley, Bara Bhangal.

Day 7 : Bara Bhangal to Mardh

Today, we will begin to move toward the enormous pass, Thamsar. The path ends up through pine, deodar, and birch forests with mountain rivers to break the dullness. The campsite in March is close to the starting point of the Thamsar glacier.

Day 8 : Mardh to Plachak via Thamsar Pass

One more day of steep climb over moraine, scree, and glacial mass. The trip is broken by a small lake just beneath the pass. On top of Thamsar, you will get your most memorable look at the rich of the Kangra valley. On the opposite side of the pass, it’s a precarious, long plunge till you arrive at the campsite at Plachak, well underneath the timberline.

Day 9: Plachak to Rajgundha for billing 

 The path is easy and simple, going through a pine forest with numerous mountain streams. The valley broadens and you get extraordinary views of the open Kangra valley. You can take a vehicle at billing and arrive at Bir or Dharamshala. Or you can also decide to do paraglide from billing to Bir.
