Dzongri Trek becomes a facile path with a clear view of Mt. Kangchenjunga. Goecha La is a more strenuous Trek with much more to provide and a closer view of Kangchenjunga and other summits.

Location of Dzongri Trek
Situated in Singalila Ridge in the western part of Sikkim, the South face of Kanchenjunga seen from Dzongri. Surrounded by the state of West Bengal in the south and country Nepal in the west.
Best Time to Visit Dzongri Trek
Summer:- April and May is the best time to appreciate fully blown Rhododendrons along the trek.
Winter:- September to November is best to visit to enjoy the snowcapped paradisiacal scene of mountains brimmed with golden sunlight.
How to Reach Dzongri Trek
The Jalori pass is most easily attainable from the cities of Delhi, Ambala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Leh (July to October only).

The nearest airport is Bagdogra, WB Reach Siliguri – Jorethang – Yuksom, cabs and shared Jeeps are available for traveling.

Itinerary of Dzongri Trek
Day 1: New Jalpaiguri to Yuksom
8 hour travel then rest and leisure in Yuksom, experience the culture of Buddhism and eastern India.
Day 2: Yuksom to Sachen
7200 ft | 8 km | 6 Hour
Explore the lively and lush forest to reach Sachen, with a captivating view of Tshushay Khola Falls then cross through suspension bridge Pha Kola to reach the destination in half an hour.
Day 3: Sachen to Tshoka via Bakhim
9000 ft | 7 KM | 5 Hour
Alluring views of Mt Kanchenjunga and Mt Pandim, prominently oak and rhododendrons (seasonal) are scenic attractions through this path. Tibetan settlements and Monasteries can be encountered at Tshoka.
Day 4: Tshoka to Dzongri via Phe Dang
13,700 ft | 8 KM | 7 Hour
Trekking through a lush forest of rhododendrons, break at Phe Dang accompanied by magnificent view Mt Kanchenjunga. The trek gets steeper and prone to altitude sickness. After reaching Phe Dang, take a route to the right to Dzongri via Deorali Norbugang Chorten provides the emergence of Buddhism here.
Day 5: Rest Day at Dzongri
After a night in Dzongri, next an early morning trek to Dzongri Top. This is the mesmersing view that we have been trekking for. The majestic scene of Kangchenjunga, seems to close. An excursion to Lakhmi Pokri lake is another cherry topping.
Day 6: Dzongri top to Tshoka
12 Km | 6 hours
Climb to Deorali then descend to Phe Dang then to Tshoka.
Day 7: Tshoka to Yuksom
15 Km | 6 hours
Walk down from Tshoka to Yuksom.
Day 8: Yuksom to NJP
With new memories and pictures, that is for insta feed and stories to share.
